Gophers DB Carter arrested, will play

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Minnesota defensive back Michael Carter will be allowed to play against Illinois despite his arrest this week outside a campus pizza parlor.

Minnesota coach Tim Brewster said Tuesday that the matter is being handled internally and that the freshman will play against Illinois.

Carter was arrested early Monday and charged with obstructing the legal process and underage consumption. Police say Carter and a teammate were trying to pick a fight. (MORE)
