Keenan McCardell is Redskins' new receivers coach

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) Longtime NFL wideout Keenan McCardell will be the receivers coach for the Washington Redskins.

McCardell was hired Tuesday as the replacement for Stan Hixon, who was not retained by new coach Mike Shanahan. Hixon was hired Monday as Buffalo Bills receivers coach.

McCardell caught 883 passes, 13th on the career list, over 17 seasons. He had his most productive stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but spent his final year as a player with the Redskins, catching 22 passes for 256 yards in 2007. (MORE)
